Under

genera
l supervision
of
the Director
of
the
Tehama
County
SELPA,
the
School Nurse Supervisor
has
responsibility for oversight.
coordination
of
services, formulation
and/or
implementation
of
hea
lth
services
to
schoo
l
sites
and
programs across
the
County.
Th
e Supervisor provides
the

lu
at
io
n
and
protect
io
n
of
the
health
of
pup
ils
and
school personnel
and
offers
recomme
nd
at
io
ns
for
improvement
in
accordance
with State
law
and
County
and
SELPA
policy
and
proc
edures.

Develops
and
direc
ts
the
School H
ealt
h Services Program. Provides leadership, supervision.
consult
ation
.
coordination
. in-service,
program
development
and
program
evaluation
services
to
princ
ipa
ls, t
eache
rs
and
other
staff
in
support
of
the
County
Health Program.
Directs
the
County
School Health
Serv
ices Program: recruits, superv
ises
. evaluates
and
provides in-
service training for
school
health
services staff.
Serves
as
liaison
between
State
and
Local Health
Agenc
i
es
,
hea
lth
care
providers
and
the
County.
Coo
rdinates
the
selection. purchase
and
distribution
of
health
supplies
to
all
County
sites.
Assumes responsibility for
and
directs
mandat
ed
screening
and
follow-
up
procedures.
Assists
schools in following physician directions in administering
medication.
Makes
home
visits
as
needed.
Coopera
tes in
the
effort
of
princi
pa
ls. special
and
regular
educat
ion, pupil personnel staff. teachers
and
support site staff in regards to the identification. certificati
on
and
placement
of
students
in
programs for
spec
i
al
education.
Identifi
es

lth problems through observations, inspections, interviews
and
analysis
of
records.
Works
with teachers
and
district personnel in preparation,
eva
luation
and
revision
of
Health
Education Curriculum
and
the
sele
ct
ion
of
instruct
io
nal
materials
to
be
used in the County.
Works
with
teacher
s
and
the student's private physician
in
preparation
,
evaluatio
n
and
revision
of
E
mergency
Health Protocols for identified students.
Schedules nursing services for the
SELPA
in
con
sultation
and
collaboration with district
admin
istrators.
Conducts
and
chairs regular nursing staff meetings
lo
articulate,
coordinate
and
facilitate
on
-
going
health
services.
Assists
in planning, prioritization
and
resear
ching
of
staff
development
activities for School
Nurses
and/or
other
school staff.
Serves as a resource person
to
site l
eve
l
health
personnel to
ass
i
st
them
in effectively
im
prov
ing
health
services
to
all students.
Prepares reports
and
maintains records for a
var
iet
y
of
health
or
related
services
as
requi
red
by
State
law
and
SELP
A policy.
Serves
as
a liaison with
comm
unity resources
to
facilitate collaboration.
Will
work with
the
School
Attendance
Review Board
and
attend
Manag
ement
Team Meetings.
Serves
on
the
county
office
safety
committe
e to ensure a safe environme

for students
and
staff.
Conducts
a
program
to

ntrol
communicable
diseases
in
the
school
and
community.
Coordinates
planning
for a comprehensive
health
education
program
