Welcome Child of God!
No matter what your present status in the Catholic Church,
No matter your personal history, age, income, background, gender, race, ethnicity or spirituality, or marital situation,
No matter your own self-image of holiness or virtue,
You belong to Jesus Christ and you belong to us!
You are invited, accepted and respected here at the Parish of Saint Thomas More.
Take our hands, Lord Jesus, leading us in courage to confront with courage the forces which oppress and divide.
Take our hearts, Lord Jesus, and open them to the truth which will set others free.
Accompany us on our way, Lord Jesus, as we seek to share our Roman Catholic faith and life in your Spirit.

Easter
The kindling of a new fire outside the
church precedes a procession led by the
Christ Candle. The candle images the wounded
Christ journeying through the darkness of the night.
Then, inside the candlelit church, the Easter Exultet
testifies to God’s gracious action in history.
T. S. Eliot captures the journeying through the
darkness and light in The Rock. The chorus states:
“O light invisible, we praise thee! We thank thee
for the lights that we have kindled, the light of the
altar and of sanctuary; small lights for those who
meditate at midnight. And lights directed through
colored panes of windows. And lights reflected
from the polished stone, the gilded craven wood,
the colored fresco…
And there with us is night no more, but only Light.
Light. Light of the Light.”
Though death, darkness and evil seek to undermine
our faith, they have not extinguished the blinding
light of the Easter Event. Easter tells us we need
never despair for God brings light out of darkness,
victory out of defeat, and resurrection out of death.
Easter reminds us that our story ends as it began, in
God.
Your parish staff and I wish you the happiest and
holiest Easter.
Fr. Andrew
